Thank Sen. Manchin and Sen. Sinema
We often exhort or membership to call our elected representatives to put pressure on them to do the right thing.
Well, in the last two weeks two Democrat senators, Sen. Joe Manchin of WV and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of AZ bucked the protracted, vicious attacks of the dinosaur media, vile lies of leftist activists and even the arm twisting of Democrat leadership, to do the right thing, and protect the filibuster, and the very function of the U.S. Senate. We owe them a huge “thank you!”
Sen. Schumer and Mr. Biden both wanted to destroy the Senate for partisan, short-term gain. Did you know that the Senate has had a filibuster, with even higher thresholds, since at least 1806? That’s 215 years!
The purpose of the high threshold to end debate on a bill is to ensure that radical views of the day do not prevail, and that the minority party’s voice is heard. The Democrat party has a long history of filibustering. Read more here. But with the Democrat party in the the slimmest majority, Democrats tried to silence Republican voices to further a radical lie. Senators Manchin and Sinema saved the day, and one can argue, our republic!
