Greg Beyer opened with a prayer and pledge.
Penny Johnson updated on Constitutional Sheriff Seminar planned for our area. A planning committee is in place & a meeting is set with Sheriff Dustin Smith to plan details.
Penny introduced guest speaker Dr. Keevin Woody, new Superintendent of Cherokee County Schools. He introduced himself and answered questions.
Chris Hall gave an update on Cherokee County Jural Assembly.
Dan Hayden gave an update on Convention of States.
Margaret Ackiss, NCGOP District 11 Secretary, spoke on election lessons learned, voter rolls, calling to help Herschel Walker election.
Greg Beyer gave update on local leachate dumping into our county.
• Young Harris water treatment plant permit expired in March ‘22
• Metals Testing: 5/24/22
• Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Mercury, Nickel, Selenium, Zinc, Arsenic, Lead, all “BDL” except copper (.05/.03) and nickel (.02/.003) and zink .04/.004) (mg/L) 10X allowable levels.
• No other chemical, petroleum, pharma substance testing.
• GA EPD Not in a hurry to monitor, renew permit. It is time for public action and outcry.
• Need letters to editor Cherokee Scout, Towns County Herald, interviews on WJRB (Young Harris, wide area of GA and WNC) and WCNG (Wide Area of WNC and N. GA)
Greg Beyer gave Legislative update:
• Respect for Marriage Act is an attack on people of faith and faith based organizations – NC Senators voted yes. Call to stop final vote.
• Spending Runs out December 16 – Call Reps and Senators NO OMNIBUS – Continuing Resolution ONLY.
• Courts have struck down Biden regime college debt redistribution.

Sheriff elect Dustin Smith will be swearing in Dec. 5, 8 AM at the courthouse. Come & support NC first certified constitutional sheriff!
