Recap of Citizens Meeting 5/25/2022
Meeting Recap
The March meeting for Citizens for a Better America was held on May 25th at Rib Country. We had a lively crowd of about 55 Patriots and fantastic “Q”!
Dan Adams opened the meeting with a prayer remembering the Texas massacre victims, followed with the pledge of Allegiance.
Sheriff Dustin Smith
Penny Johnson along with Dan and Greg presented a certificate to Dustin Smith who won the election to Cherokee County Sheriff and is now taking Constitutional Sheriff and Peace Officers Association 6 week course, paid for by CBA-member donations.
Dan introduced Chris Hall who gave a comprehensive explanation on the Jural Assembly. This is a presentation designed to be used as we expand to other counties.
Our last protest was sparsely attended, so we hoping a better turnout on June 25 with June 23 being our projected meeting date.
Leachate
Greg gave a report on the dumping of toxic leachate in the Georgia communities. What was being dumped in Blairsville GA was stopped, but now it appears it is being dumped in Young Harris — which ultimately ends up in NC waterways. He is digging deeper to find out what can be done and how dangerous this is. Here are some videos from Fox5 Atlanta TV news on the Blairsville dumping. August 5, 2020 September 10, 2020 You may contact Young Harris mayor Andrea Gibby at cityofyh@windstream.net, to ask your own questions. He also updated us on current legislation issues:
Title IX
The Biden administration has a radical agenda to change Title IX, which will destroy girl’s and women’s opportunities in sports, and education, and compromise their safety. Public comment on the rule is not yet open, but you can get on a Heritage Action list to be notified when the rule drops so that you may comment.
Small Business COVID Relief Act of 2022 (Senate Bill 4008)
Would have pumped another $48 BILLION of federal money (gasoline) on the inflation inferno. And led to further waste, fraud and abuse. Fortunately, since our meeting the bill has been DEFEATED!
A CBA member got up and recited a very inspiring Patriotic poem.
Dan Hayden gave an update on the Convention of States
Penny announced that Andrew Zenobi has agreed to be a liaison to the Board of Education and John Worden will be a liaison to the County Commission.
A member of CBA asked Dan what action steps are we going to do, Dan reviewed the list of accomplishments so far including helping to elect a Constitutional Sheriff, growing to over 200 members, 14 in town protests, and being the first county in North Carolina to be inducted into the National Jural Assembly
The next meeting will be on June 23, and the next demonstration in Murphy will be on June 25th.
The closing prayer was given by Leroy Babbitt.
